WA Veterinary Board of Governors
The Veterinary Board of Governors is made up of five licensed veterinarians, one licensed veterinary technician and one public member, all appointed by the governor. The licensed veterinary members must be state residents in active practice as licensed practitioners of veterinary medicine, surgery and dentistry and must be U.S. citizens. Not more than one licensed veterinary member shall be from the same congressional district. The licensed veterinary technician must be trained in both large and small animal medicine. The licensed veterinary technician member is a non-voting member with respect to board decisions related to the discipline of veterinarians involving standard of care.
In accordance with the Open Public Meeting Act (Chapter 42.30 RCW) and the Administrative Procedures Act (Chapter 34.05 RCW), the following is the schedule of regular meetings for the Department of Health, Veterinary Board of Governors for the year 2020. The board meetings are open to the public and access for persons with disabilities may be arranged with advance notice; please contact the staff person below for more information.
